Fasting Diary - Day 4

Things are starting to improve this afternoon. It’s taken a while. I’m now getting the ‘clean’ feeling, breathing is clear and easy (mucus must have dissipated), head and eyes feel clean, bright, getting that ’scrubbed inside head’ feeling. Depression is lifting, although this morning it was still there. Not really wanting to get out of bed and do work. Fell asleep on sofa again last night watching TV and woke at 10.30pm. Read book til 11pm then slept until 6am.

Fasting - Day 2

Today I only had lemon juice in hot water, some apple/forest fruit juice and some spirulina. Oh, and I also had some Livatone powder in the juice once or twice. Plus dandelion tea and Teecino. I’m sure that’s still called fasting as I didn’t have any food.

Powerpoint Presentation Skills

Like any tool, Powerpoint’s effectiveness greatly depends on the person wielding it. Powerpoint is a visual aid, with the emphasis being on the word ‘aid’. All too often, novice speakers lose sight of this fact and make their Powerpoints the focus of their presentations. It can be a way of trying to reduce nerves, by taking the audience’s attention off the speaker and onto a screen full of bullet points. Whatever the reason, there are skills that can and must be learnt in order to effectively learn how to do a Powerpoint presentation.

Presentation

What actually IS a presentation? A presentation is the process of presenting the content of a topic to an audience. It’s about having a conversation with your listeners, maybe persuading them to adopt a certain viewpoint, inspiring them to take a particular course of action, having them understand a key concept.

Public Speaking Skills

I will always remember the day when I went along to my first business networking event. I had taken the plunge to start my own business working from home and knew that the best way to promote myself was to get out there and meet people face to face. Little did I know that at this particular networking event I would be required to stand up in front of over 30 people all seated around a U-shaped table and introduce myself and my services for a whole minute!
