Toastmasters – A Great Public Speaking Club

When you set out to overcome a challenge, it is important to become part of a strong support system with resources to meet that challenge. Your first step will be to locate the nearest public speaking group in your area. The most well known and acclaimed public speaking organization is Toastmasters International.

Toastmasters is a non-profit international organization whose sole purpose is to provide the environment whereby members can develop communication and leadership skills. Membership dues are nominal, but the benefits are numerous. Members receive a booklet that works you through ten speeches that target specific speaking skills, i.e., vocal variety, speech writing, using props, etc. The meetings also provide opportunities to speak through impromptu two minute speeches. Members also receive a monthly magazine that provides self-help articles, industry news, and convention news.
